Activist says Native American mascot depictions impact children

Amanda Blackhorse, a Native American activist, spoke with GlobalSport Matters about how sports mascots that depict Native Americans and their culture can affect the native communities and their children. Blackhorse stressed how these racist mascots impact early development and education of native children. Educators need to examine the impact these depictions have on children long term.

She spoke at the March 2019 Global Sport Summit in Phoenix.
